Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Madeline Parks Designs, there may be some limitations. We use Google Lighthouse and Wave to assess and audit our site for issues.   Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions.  Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Madeline Parks Designs:

As of September 2024, some alt text for images is not displaying correctly. The alt text is provided in the master image but any image optimized by Shopify displays  the image name rather than the proper alt text description. We are working with a developer to fix this.

Color contrast between text and background does not always have a strong enough contrast ratio.

Zooming and scaling is disabled when adding details at the checkout.

There are instances where the focus indicator is unclear during the checkout process, especially around the 'Review order' and 'Pay now' buttons.

Automatic testing tools raised technical issues with unique IDs, ARIA labels and landmarks which could potentially cause issues for assistive technology users.

We use Shopify's OS 2.0 Debut Theme for the checkout pages which, as of 2024 , has some areas of WCAG 2.1 AA where the theme is only partially compliant but are working on addressing these issues in Q1/Q2 2024.
